Aspartame
The dangers of aspartame have been widely published in every sort of
media for quite some time now. It is not the harmless sweetener it is
purported to be – but a dangerous and toxic chemical we can all do
well to avoid. Unfortunately, it is in most processed food, so unless
you are really vigilant, you will find yourself unwittingly consuming
aspartame. Nancy Markle, recently speaking for several days in the USA
at the World Environment Conference on Aspartame, noted that the
epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus across the United
States was to a large degree due to the ingestion of this toxic
substance.
When the temperature of aspartame exceeds 86°F (as it does in cooked
food), the wood alcohol in aspartame converts to formaldehyde (used in
embalming procedures to preserve tissues, and a potent carcinogen) and
then to formic acid – the poison found in the sting of the fire ant.
Findings amongst regular drinkers of diet drinks was that systemic
lupus (an auto-immune disease) was on the increase – lupus can be
triggered by aspartame, but it is often not revealed as the culprit.

Methanol toxicity
from aspartame mimics multiple sclerosis, and once the sufferers are
taken off the artificial sweetener, their symptoms disappear, some
have their vision return and even tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
dissipates. Very often, people suffering from Fibromyalgia symptoms –
spasms, shooting pains, numbness in the legs, cramp, vertigo,
dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety
attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision or memory loss, actually have
“aspartame disease”. In one of Nancy Markle’s lectures attended by the
Ambassador of Uganda, he mentioned that their sugar industry was
adding aspartame to the sugar!
The scary part is that aspartame converts to formaldehyde in the
retina of the eye – formaldehyde is grouped in the same class of drugs
as cyanide and arsenic – both deadly poisons. Aspartame just takes
longer to kill, and it’s causing all sorts of neurological problems in
a host of people who wouldn’t suspect it of being the cause. It causes
alterations in the brain’s chemistry, seizures and changes the
dopamine level in the brain. Imagine what this must do to a
Parkinson’s sufferer?
There is no reason at all to be taking aspartame – it is
NOT A DIET PRODUCT. The
Congressional record at the hearings when this product was included in
over 100 different foods, stated that: “It makes you crave
carbohydrates and will make you FAT.” Imagine that – a diet product,
which makes you put on weight. Formaldyhyde is stored in fat cells,
particularly on the hips and thighs.
Aspartame is especially deadly for diabetics. It can cause the blood
sugar level to go out of control, causing coma, and some people have
died as a result in the United States. At the Conference of the
American College of Physicians, it was stated that cases were recorded
of people who had switched from saccharine to aspartame, and
eventually gone into comas. These patients suffered acute memory loss
and as physicians could not get their sugar levels under control, they
eventually died. Memory loss is due to the fact that aspartic acid and
phenylalanine are neurotoxic without the other amino acids found in
protein. Thus aspartic acid goes past the brain barrier and
deteriorates the neurons of the brain. Dr Russell Blaylock,
neurosurgeon said, “The ingredients stimulate the neurons of the brain
to death – causing brain damage of varying degrees.”
Dr Blaylock has written a book entitled “Exvirotoxins: The Taste that
Kills” outlining the dangers of aspartame. Dr HJ Roberts, diabetic
specialist and world expert on aspartame poisoning, has also written a
book entitled “Defence against Alzheimer’s Disease”, in which he tells
how aspartame poisoning is escalating Alzheimer’s Disease. Women are
being admitted to hospices in the USA at 30 years of age with
Alzheimer’s Disease. According to the Conference of the American
College of Physicians: “We are talking about a plague of neurological
diseases caused by this deadly poison.” Aspartame is available in over
90 countries around the world.
If your baby or anyone else you know is suffering from seizures, get
them off all forms of aspartame and “sugar free” products – as they
usually contain this substance – and you may find the seizures will
stop. Aspartame Disease has been identified as the cause of some of
the mystery Desert Storm ailments. Soldiers suffered burning tongues
and other health problems, and in over 60 investigated cases, their
problems can be directly related to the consumption of products
containing aspartame. Several thousand pallets of diet drinks were
sent to the troops during their time there, these diet sodas lay in
the 120°F Arabian sun for weeks at a time, servicemen and women drank
them all day long and exhibited symptoms identical to aspartame
poisoning.
There are many case histories and many books, papers and articles on
this subject. Educate yourself and don’t be fooled by clever
advertising. Stevia
or Xylitol would be the only safe replacement in my
estimation at this point.
